Policy on Putting Tapes on Reserve in the Digital Editing Lab

Who may put tapes on reserve?—Professors, Lecturers, and TAs may put tapes on reserve that will be or were used in their courses.

You may request to put a tape on reserve by calling ext. 3518, e-mailing fvo@id.ucsb.edu, or by walking into Video Services (Kerr Hall 1204).

Putting a tape/DVD that belongs to Video Services on reserve must be done by the staff of Video Services. Digital Editing Labs will not accept one of Video Services' tapes for reserve by a faculty member.

Pulling a tape that belongs to Video Services off reserve must be done by the staff of Video Services. Digital Editing Labs will not release the tape(s) without our authorization.

All tapes belonging to Video Services must be checked out and returned to Video Services. No exceptions apply!

Tapes may be pulled off reserve for another faculty member to use in their course but will be put back as soon as the tape is returned.

This Policy is to help keep everyone happy, minimize disruptions to students trying to view videos that have been placed on reserve in the Lab, and keep Video Services' databases up to date on where the materials are and who has them.
